C2.6.b. Guideline B2.6, paragraph 1, indicates that compensation for ship’s loss or foundering may be limited to two months’ wages. Does this mean it can be less than two months wages?
The Guideline simply means that the indemnity against unemployment resulting from a ship’s foundering or loss could be restricted by national law or an applicable collective agreement to two months’ wages, but not to any shorter period (unless the seafarer finds other employment).
